Mysore Masala Dosa

Mysore Masala Dosa

A quite different from regular masala dosa, this one is crisper from outside with a twisted taste of red chutney with garlic from inside. Mashed Potato masala is used as a filling in this dosa. A must try Mysore Masala dosa is commonly available across the country.

Ingredients Required:-
  • Rice (Par-boiled) - 1 Cup 
  • Urad dal - 1/4 Cup 
  • Toor dal - 3 Tbsp 
  • Semolina - 3 Tbsp
  • Methi seeds - 1 Tsp
  • Salt - To Taste

For Masala :
  • Potatoes - 250 Gram 
  • Sliced Onions - 1 Cup
  • Chopped Garlic - 1 Tsp
  • Chopped Ginger - 1 Tsp
  • Chopped Coriander Leaves - 2 Tbsp
  • Green Chillies - To Taste
  • Salt - To Taste
  • Oil - 2 Tbsp
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 Tsp
  • Curry Leaves - 1 Spring

For red chutney:
  • Garlic - 5-6Cloves
  • Ginger - A Pinch
  • Red Chillies - 2
  • Chopped Onion - ½ Onion
  • Fried Chana Dal - 2 Tbsp
  • Salt - To Taste

Method:-

For Dough:-

1) Need to soak all the ingredients for four hours except Semolina.
2) After four hours, mix remaining semolina, salt. Make batter using water and then keep it aside.

For Dosa Masala:-

1) First, boil the potatoes, peel smash them.
2) Make a paste from garlic, ginger, green chillies, Coriander leaves, and onions.
3) Take a pan and heat the oil, then add mustard seeds.
4) Add Remaining Onions and saute them.
5) Next, add the paste and continue to saute for 1-2 minutes.
6) Then add potatoes, tomatoes, salt and curry leaves.

For Red Chutney:-

1) Roast chana dal till it turns a little brown in colour.
2) Roast onion, ginger, and garlic for around 1 minute. Then add them into the blender and make a paste.

For Dosa:-

1) Take a non-stick pan and heat little oil. 
2) Put Dosa batter and spread evenly.
3) Put little oil around the dosa and cook well.
4) Spread red chutney on the dosa.
5) Put Dosa Masala.
6) Cook properly, fold from both sides.
7) Your Mysore Masala dosa is ready. serve hot
